Carbon Reduction Proposal (CRP)
1. Commitment
Clinked.com is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in accordance with UK government PPN 06/21. This Carbon Reduction Plan applies to our entire operations, including our coworking location at WeWork, Cambridge.
2. Scope & Reporting Period
- Reporting period: 1 April 2024 – 31 March 2025
- Operational boundaries:
- Scope 1: None (no owned buildings or fuel systems)
- Scope 2: Estimated electricity and heating based on proxy per-desk share
- Scope 3: Includes five mandatory categories, with clear assumptions
3. Data Collection & Methodology
Scope 1 (Direct Emissions)
- Emissions are zero, as we do not control or consume fuel on-site.
Scope 2 (Indirect – Purchased Energy)
- Challenge: We cannot access actual kWh usage from WeWork.
- Proxy method: UK small offices typically use 15,000–25,000 kWh/year.
- Desk share: We occupy 3 desks out of ~50 (~6%).
- Estimated electricity use: 20,000 kWh × 6% = 1,200 kWh/year
- Emission factor: 0.22535 kg CO₂e per kWh (UK grid average)
- Calculation: 1,200 kWh × 0.22535 = 270 kg CO₂e (0.27 t CO₂e)
This proxy estimate is provided due to unavailable direct energy data. We will seek more precise data from WeWork in future updates.
Scope 3 (Indirect – Mandatory Categories)
All emissions use DEFRA/BEIS 2024 conversion factors where applicable, with transparent proxy estimations used where needed.
4. Emissions Summary
5. Reduction Measures
- Request that WeWork adopts green energy tariffs
- Encourage hybrid/remote work to reduce on-site emissions
- Promote cycling, walking, and public transport
- Maintain digital-first operations (paperless, virtual meetings)
- Use WeWork’s recycling facilities and reusable office items
6. Targets & Review
- Annual target: Reduce CO₂e per employee by 5% year-on-year
- Long-term goal: Progress toward Net Zero by 2050
- Review schedule: CRP to be updated within six months of financial year-end
7. Governance & Publication
- Signed by: Tayfun Bilsel, CEO
- Publication: This CRP will be published on our website or provided digitally with our DOS7 submission
8. Transparency & Assumptions
- Energy consumption is estimated via proxy per-desk share using UK grid emission factor (0.22535 kg CO₂e/kWh)
- Business travel and waste are deemed insignificant, justified with references
- Employee commuting emissions calculated based on distance, attendance, and DEFRA factor
- Transport categories excluded with full justification
- All assumptions are documented transparently
